Stanwood Area Historical Society Expansion Study

This study explored the feasibility of a proposed expansion to the existing Stanwood Area Historical Society (SAHS) campus in historic downtown Stanwood, Washington. SAHS operates a local history museum that includes historic structures and collections of local artifacts, in addition to hosting community events and offering a public meeting hall for rent. The proposed expansion project would consist of adding two new buildings to the campus, as well as associated reprogramming and site work, to support SAHS’s current mission and ambitions to preserve more local knowledge, reach more visitors, and grow into the future.

The task before SAHS was to review the information contained in this Feasibility Study as the basis for fundraising and future design. SAHS will carefully evaluate the three design options presented in the study to determine the next steps moving forward.
