Resilient Framing Systems Factory Tour

Posted September 9th, 2022 by Chrystal Delphia-Ramos

The HKP team recently toured Resilient Framing Systems’ design and fabrication facility while on our annual company retreat. Resilient Framing Systems designs and manufactures high-performance wall and floor panels at their facility, located on the east side of Portland. We were greeted by the owner Scott Kosmicki, who gave us a brief overview of Resilient’s manufacturing process followed by a thorough review and explanation of the high-performance wall panel mockup they had on display in their office. We had the opportunity to see some design work happening with their CADWork software and briefly talked about the design process and digital twins. We finished our tour with a walk around the manufacturing facility, where Scott explained the panel build process and how they go about fabricating their building components to be shipped and installed in the field.

Resilient Panel Systems is a small but very important high performance building component manufacturer and supplier who has accepted the challenges of panelized construction and are working hard to provide sustainable building products designed and built to meet Passive House standards. The level of completion is much higher on Resilient’s framing systems products because components providing critical weather and air resistance are built into the panels, thus making the final install and project completion quicker and more efficient.

Scott and HKP Partner Julie Blazek are members of Passive House Northwest, an organization who is promoting and collaborating on all things related to Passive House and high-performance building standards in the Northwest. Thank you, Resilient Framing Systems and Scott, for sharing your awesome design and manufacturing facility with all of us at HKP.
