Mount Vernon, WA | August 2019 – Christine Baldwin recently earned her professional license to practice architecture in the State of Washington and has been promoted to Project Architect at HKP Architects. Licensure requirements include holding an accredited degree, working under the supervision of a licensed architect to obtain the number of hours of experience required by the National Council of Architectural Registration Board’s (NCARB) Architectural Experience Program (AXP), and to passing the rigorous Architect Registration Exams (ARE).
“I look forward to expanding my professional knowledge as a licensed architect and applying my knowledge in ways that enrich our communities,” said Christine Baldwin.
Architectural licensing is overseen by the State of Washington Architectural Licensing Board. The purpose is to ensure that practicing architects have the knowledge and experience to protect the health, safety, and welfare of the public. Once licensed, registered architects are required to earn a required amount of Continuing Education credits on an annual basis to maintain their license.
Christine has been an instrumental team member at HKP since 2014, and has worked on significant projects including Housing Hope’s Twin Lakes Landing, Orcas Island Public Library Expansion, and the Western Washington University Consolidated Academic Support Services Facility, among many others. She earned a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo.
As Project Architect, she will expand her leadership and design role on new projects and continue to mentor emerging professionals. “We are delighted to see Christine accomplish this major step in her career and to have her leading HKP projects with her skill and dedication to the profession,” said Julie Blazek, Partner at HKP.
Christine receives her official rubber licensing stamp from HKP Partner Brian Poppe.
“Christine shows an incredible amount of dedication to her projects and is devoted to making things right. I look forward to her continuing impact in the leadership not only of her projects but also at HKP,” said Brian Poppe, Partner at HKP Architects.
