As a direct response to the needs and desired to provide drug and alcohol treatment within the Swinomish Indian Tribal Community, this project provides residential treatment for up to 8 individuals, 4 men and 4 women, with the goal of expanding to 16. Based on the successful plan arrangement of the Multi-Function Group Home, the facility has two residential winds with a central core of group room, kitchen, dining and social spaces. The wings enclose an open green space for residents and staff to enjoy gorgeous views of Mount Baker. Set within the Tallawhalt housing development, this project seeks to put the residents within easy access of their families and support networks as they transition out of care and back into their family support structure.
