A new 650-student K-8 School, located adjacent to where its original namesake once stood. The original Lucille Umbarger School was demolished due revised flood plain boundaries. The new school sits above the flood plain, is two stories in height, and contains classrooms, a computer lab, an art room, a library, and two fully-equipped Science classrooms. To help reduce the scale of the school, materials and colors were selected to help articulate the function and form of the building. The three two-story wings provide distinct age level communities within the school.
