The Lincoln Theatre in downtown Mount Vernon is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and protected by preservation restrictions. The Owner, the City of Mount Vernon, secured funds to upgrade the façade and infrastructure for the 80 year old structure.
Phase I work involved the restoration of the building’s façade to its original design. Work included replacing the deteriorating canopy structure and storefront, cleaning and tuckpointing the masonry and replacing the original terra cotta veneer work. The original ticket booth, removed during earlier remodels, was recreated according to original plans. Additional Phase II work was completed in 2005 which included mechanical upgrades, new audio/visual systems and stage lighting. (Photo by John Yeager)
