Completed in 2004 is the yet another piece of BTC’s Master Plan improvements – the 16,000 SF Des McArdle Center for Electrical and Process Control Technology. It houses specialized labs, general purpose classrooms, computer lab, offices and support spaces. The durable and flexible design allows for many current and future instructional programs to be taught depending on the changing dynamics in the market place.
The project includes numerous site improvements which provide staff and students with easy circulation routes, formal and informal social gathering spaces, and a consistent architectural “feel” as the campus and its identity develops.
“I would characterize the work that Julie and HKP did with us as extraordinarily collaborative during the programmatic and schematic phase, cost-consciously creative in the design phase, and very competent during the construction administration portion of the project. I have since had the opportunity to work with a larger and better known rm after having interviewed several of the major players in our regional market. I would gladly work again with HKP in full confidence that both their design capability and their customer relationship management are fully competitive with the top-of-class firms.”
