Breaking Ground for the Mount Vernon Library Commons

The Groundbreaking Ceremony for the Mount Vernon Library Commons was held on Saturday, September 17. The event was attended by many community members; Senator Liz Lovelett and State Representatives Suzan DelBene, Debra Lekanoff, Alex Ramel, Greg Gilday and Dave Paul, and even a video message from Governor Jay Inslee. Attendees were treated to performances by the Mount Vernon High School Band as the community celebrated this critical milestone for the Library Commons project.

Mayor Boudreau spoke to the history of the project and the importance this project for today and future generations. The Library Commons will serve as a catalyst for economic development and serve as an example of sustainable design for the state and nation.
We are so honored to work with the City of Mount Vernon on this project that means so much to this community.
